The Insights Consultant, reports directly to the Automotive Sector Lead of Insights Consulting for Cision Insights. The Insights Consultant has responsibility for day-to-day customer relationships and acts as the client’s voice within the company and the voice of the company to the client. This includes addressing needs and requests in a timely fashion, preparing and presenting report findings, making recommendations, and serving as a trusted, regular point of contact.
The Insights Consultant is an expert in media monitoring and media analytics and works hand-in-hand with Cision’s production andto ensure deliverables meet the needs and the expectations of the customer. They are the glue between the customer and our delivery organization and must develop a strong relationship with their peers to ensure a seamless experience for the customer.
Finally, this person will serve as the foremost authority on the customer’s insights program, documenting evolving needs, risks and opportunities for the purpose of providing senior-level stakeholders across Insights Consulting and commercial with the information required to support retention and spot upsell opportunity.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Delivers excellent customer service on a day-to-day basis.
- Responsible for developing deep partnerships with our clients to help them achieve their goals and establish Cision Insights as an extension of their team and a partner in their work.
- Partners proactively with clients through understanding their challenges, goals and business, using best practice to advise on program objectives. Looks for opportunities to discuss approaches/tools that would complement the work.
- Maintains regular communication with clients and provides needed education.
- Answers relevant questions/queries related to the client program, and proactively contacting the client in between service reviews.
- Provides client training for new clients within the set-up period, as well as additional sessions required by the client.
- Ensures all requests and needs are addressed in a timely and satisfactory manner in collaboration with the delivery organization and commercial teams.
- Leads and coordinates new project designs and ramp ups.
- Maintains an up to date understanding of each client’s insight program, including deliverable cadence, specifications and evolving requirements/potential needs through own research and regular stakeholder communication.
- Maintains internal documentation regarding information and updates concerning the account, including SWOT, key contact information, deliverables, etc.
- Insights Generation and Customer Advisory
- Leads customer presentations to present findings and recommendations on reporting.
- Translates customer needs into clear instruction for delivery and coordinates with customer on additional clarification required by delivery to execute.
- Coordinates on turnaround timing with delivery organization and manages customer expectations.
- Is actively involved in data-driven insights generation and report writing.
- All Insights Consultants are trained in aspects of our delivery processes. They must be able and willing to search, write, and edit deliverables for multiple clients to complete ad-hoc tasks or fix issues.
- Commercial support
- Supports the expansion and revenue growth of the overall Insights Consulting division via the retention / upsell of current client services or supporting the onboarding of new clients and opportunities.
- Contributes to the creation of thought leadership comprised of trend studies, case studies, sector expert profiles, and named conferences and events organized by sector to drive leads.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or social science.
- Professional experience and interest in media analysis, PR, communications, journalism, or marketing.
- Interest in automotive industry and related topics.
- Excellent skills in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and/or social media listening.
- Demonstrated intelligence, as well as attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Executive-level presentation skills.
- “People skills”: ability to resolve issues with customers and/or experience with sales. Advanced and demonstrated ability to build relationships, persuade and influence stakeholders, clients, and partners.
- Proven analytical skills with systematic problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter: someone comfortable taking the initiative who does not require constant supervision for the completion of small tasks. An ideal candidate would have good judgment and ability to learn when to ask for help and when they can resolve issues on their own.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and balance multiple priorities.
- Fluency in spoken and written French is a requirement. Knowledge of additional languages, e.g. German is a plus but not a requirement.
