A Citrix Engineer II will manage, maintain, and support Cloud Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) platform. You will provide Tier 2 support and work closely with other IT teams, business stakeholders, and end users ensuring reliable and performant operation of the CVAD platform. You will also have a deep understanding of the concepts and operation of core Citrix technologies and be highly skilled in troubleshooting complex problems and engineering solid solutions.
Duties and responsibilities
- Tier 2 support of the CVAD platform; serve as a 7/24 escalation point.
- End to end ownership of all Citrix components and their configuration at each layer of the Citrix model (User, Access, Control, and Resource layers)
- Identify and implement technologies, service packs and hotfixes that address security vulnerabilities, improve reliability, system stability, and performance for the CVAD environment.
- Maintain the ‘Gold’ Virtual Apps server image; ensure ongoing component and application consistency across server tiers.
- Ownership and maintenance of Citrix related Group Policy objects
- Ownership and maintenance of Citrix Cloud NetScaler
- Engineer and deploy application implementations and upgrades on CVAD.
- Design and implement process improvements involving the CVAD service.
- Create SOP and KB documentation and content for support teams and users.
- Open support tickets with vendors and work issues to completion to provide excellent standard of service. Escalate support tickets in a timely manner as appropriate.
Competencies, Attributes, Knowledge
- Demonstrate deep knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Good hands-on experience on Citrix platform with various version
- Effective troubleshooting methodology
- Citrix Site configuration – Machine Catalogs, Delivery and Application Groups, etc.
- Experience with Azure, AVD and W365 is a plus
- Version upgrades to a Citrix core components
- Certificate renewals on Citrix infrastructure servers and NetScaler
- Group Policy Objects pertaining to Citrix.
- Profile Management solutions (Fslogix and Roaming)
- PowerShell – Citrix and AD cmdlets; task automation
- General understanding of DHCP, DNS, and firewalls in an Enterprise environment
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information system or 5+ years progressive experience with Citrix technologies in a medium to large organization.
- 5-7 years of experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a global Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops site.
- Experience in IT service delivery using the ITIL framework.
- Knowledge of Server and Networking principles pertaining to enterprise environment
- Demonstrated experience where operating as part of an effective team/relationship is critical to the success of your role.
- Expertise in understanding, setting, and managing customer expectations.
- Skills in conceptualizing, documenting, and presenting creative service solutions.
